Externato O Cantinho is a family-run school in Carcavelos, set in two houses. It has taught pré-escolar and 1.º ciclo for more than 50 years, and later added a creche. It is open all 12 months of the year, from 07h30.
The monthly fee includes music, PE and English (half an hour a day in creche and pré-escolar, twice a week in 1.º ciclo), plus psycho-pedagogical support. Extras include swimming, ballet, dance, karate, music theory and aerial yoga. The school cooks its own meals and runs school transport across three zones, from Carcavelos and São Domingos de Rana out to Estoril, Cascais and Paço de Arcos.
Good to know for international families
Teaching is in Portuguese. The price list and internal rules are also published in English, which helps when you compare. The website does not describe support for children who are new to Portuguese, so ask the school. Fees for 2026/2027 are published (see below).
