St. John’s is a small English-language nursery and pre-school on Avenida Marechal Carmona in Cascais, for children aged 1 to 5. It follows the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and the school says everything is delivered in English, even in the one-year-old room.

It is a sensible first step if you want your child to start in English before moving on to a primary or international school. The school says it is “attuned to the distinct needs of globally mobile families” and takes children at any point in the year. Opening hours are 8:00 to 19:00 on weekdays.

The site includes an indoor heated pool and a gym with a climbing wall, with swimming, ballet and judo on offer. St. John’s has historic links with St. George’s School, and its owners founded St. James’s Primary School in 2007 so St. John’s children could carry on; see our St. James’s and St. George’s profile.

To visit, contact the school by phone or email (details on its website). The 2026/27 fee page is published, but the monthly figure is shown inconsistently, so confirm it with the school.

The fee page gives a 2026/2027 schedule of monthly fees paid for 10 months: €660 a month for every class from Young Toddlers to Year One, although each line also says '10 x 630€ monthly payments'. School lunches are €170 a month (€17 a day); the packed-lunch service is €100 a month. Check the monthly figure with the school.
