St. James’s Primary School and St. George’s School are two linked schools on the same site on Rua dos Depósitos de Água in Cascais. One profile covers both, because they present themselves as one continuous path: St. George’s says that together they offer 10 years of education, from Year 2 to Year 11.
Both schools are bicurricular and bilingual. St. James’s says pupils’ time is split equally between English and Portuguese, with both curricula taught. St. George’s continues to Year 11 (IGCSE), with subjects including Global Perspectives and French. It became a Cambridge International School in 2020 and started IGCSE exams in 2022.
They suit families who want a child to stay genuinely bilingual and keep the option of either Portuguese or international schools later; St. James’s says it prepares children for both. They are linked by history to St. John’s School nursery in Cascais.
There is no school bus. Apply through the pre-enrolment form on either website.
