Colégio Maple Bear Estoril – Sigea is a long-established Estoril colégio (the former Externato Dona Luísa Sigea, with “almost 70 years of history”) that now runs the Canadian Maple Bear bilingual programme. It takes children from age 3 in pre-school up to 9.º ano, with nearly 200 pupils.
From pre-school to 3.º ano, children learn through English immersion alongside Portuguese, without systematic translation. From 2.º ciclo teaching follows the Portuguese curriculum, with Cambridge exam preparation as an optional extra. The school says about 30% of its pupils come from abroad.
It suits families who want a Portuguese school with a strong early English start, rather than a fully English-medium international school. The school has its own minibus, an on-site canteen and an after-school programme that includes ballet, taekwondo and surf/sailing.
To visit, use the school’s “Marcar visita” link or contact the office. The application form is downloadable from the enrolment page. The 2026/27 price list has not been published yet.
